You entered the command line correctly. Although I do not use a laptop
keyboard, I don't think that should cause the problem that you are having.
Other list members may have other ideas.

The command prompt was the first thing I tried. I typed it as follows: 
mess apple2ee -flop1 disks\egames.dsk. I'm using a lapttop keyboard. 
Would that make a difference? I won't give up til I get it to work.
