It works either way.
The doubletalk can be treated as a printer.
This is a legacy of when it actually was (ie the slotbuster parallel output).
Another trick (for those of you fond of infocom games),
with your doubletalk in slot 1, type script when the game boots up.
You'll be pleasantly surprised.
